Antigua Barbuda Labour Party Leader Gaston Browne Optimistic About Party’s Strength and Potential to Regain Seats

Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Leader, Gaston Browne, recently commented on a political poll indicating the party’s strong base and expressed optimism about regaining seats lost in the last election.

He also addressed criticisms from within the party regarding weak candidates, acknowledging that some candidates were not viable based on empirical data from polls.

Browne emphasized the importance of strong candidates and effective messaging, stating, “Messages were been sent to the leadership of the party, ‘hey, you know what, we don’t want them, don’t bring them back.'”

Browne further discussed specific constituencies, including All Saints West, where he believes the party can make gains with the right candidates and groundwork. He urged potential candidates to focus on grassroots efforts and hard work to secure victories in upcoming elections.

“In the event you (Lamin) emerge as a candidate, you just make sure that you do the groundwork or work real hard,” Browne advised, highlighting the significance of grassroots support and effective campaigning strategies.

  1. What about the polls in All Saints West in order to determine who the caretaker will be? Has Peter Wickham and Don Anderson completed their assignment? Both Regis Burton and Lamin Newton are still in the dark and getting mixed signals from the party hierarchy.

  2. Try as hard as you like Prime Minister Gaston ‘Out of Touch’ Browne, the constituents of All Saints are like the Barbudans and will NEVER vote ABLP again.

However, I respect that you have to give your colleagues some sort of hope.

  3. They do not utilize strategies or even basic social and behavioral sciences (it includes political science) in their endeavors.

I would like to hear that ABLP as a whole and the candidates individually hired anyone with a degree or advance degree in social/behavioral sciences during election periods.

Based on research that I have personally done, candidates loss because of their dislike on the PM. I literally did that research that was how I was able to so accurately determine/predict the results of the St. Mary’s south results. It was truly a significant part of it.

For that reason, I developed a strategy that could have substantially mitigate that and also give the SMS candidate for ABLP a better chance at winning. It wasn’t that the UPP candidate that won was the best, it was that PM Browne was hated. I did this research while trying to get petitions/evidence for a project I am working on and needed to submit evidence of its potential impact on nationally and internationally.

And from having that data, I was able to predict the results that accurately and know what could potentially mitigate the problem the ABLP candidate date for SMS and the PM would face but as usual, they do not listen to people who are in their field of advance degree.

It is like having an economy not being run or advised by someone with an advance degree in economics or other related advance degree when such persons exist.

    • Can you release your “personal” data for everyone to read and digest @ my way of helping?

      PRETTY PLEASE …

  4. The ABLP can never win a general election s without brining the electorates with monies and appliances. If the people allow to vote with no inducements ,it will be 17-0 .

  5. @mywayofhelping
While people who bother to do advanced degrees should be congratulated for their efforts, they should be aware enough to realize one doesn’t need such qualifications to understand where the political winds are blowing and the status of dunce Gaston and his duncer ABLP in this polity.
ABLP is dead as a viable political project in this country. Only chicanery, bribery, outright rigging of elections can ever bring them any further political victory in this country. And they know it. Misrepresenting and lying about polls are just futile and deceptive efforts to manipulate and influence public opinion. In fact they are so universally despised in this country today, that it matters not who leads the opposition or the quality of their candidates. All they have to do is show up as candidates at the polls and the people of this country will be glad to shoo them into power if only to throw the jackboot of this crazy leader and his goons off their necks.
Enjoy your advanced degree but we don’t need it to know where we’re headed. RED DEAD !! DEM TOO TIEF CORRUPT AND INCOMPETENT.

  6. Dean Jonas said that shugy kicked gaston’s ASS in SMS, he even asserted that gaston should stand down.
    I agree with Dean!!!

  7. People in Antigua do not vote for candidates but rather cast their vote based on party leader regardless of the constituency. That is why there was such a huge swing against ABLP in the last election. People tired of Gaston.

  8. That poll resembles a stripper pole, therefore it better show a strong base to hold all of those fat ABLP politicians whose asses are being exposed and stripped bare.

  9. @my way of helping. I am intrigued to know what instrument was used to gather your information, additionally, it is not the norm to gather statistical data by following or using a qualitative methodology,as invariably the information using that method would be inaccurate and unreliable.
Yes, it’s possible to used the two methods together, but you have failed to provide substantial evidence based on your findings.
My friend, you might need to review your conclusions before submitting to whoever sponsoring your programme otherwise you will appear like the buffoon who’s running Antigua.

My Masters was in research Methodology, which was obtained from Goldsmiths Collge London. I could offer you private tuition on the subject my fees: $200 EC per hour.

    • I am very skeptical of certain parts of your statement. You just mentioned that you are collecting and analysing quantitative data to study and understand society. Remember, quantitative is a number based. That makes no sense to comprehend behavior and way of thinking for people in a society.

Society and behavior are best researched using qualitative data, which is interpretation-based, descriptive, and relating to language. Quantitative data tells us how many, how much, or how often in calculations. Qualitative data helps us to understand why, how, or what happened behind certain behaviors?

@Antigua4ever, I must prudently refuse all assistance from you.

Also, my Bachelors and master in Criminology, along with my Juris Doctorate degree is sufficient for me to continue putting millions in all my bank accounts.

Had the response been even slightly accurate, I would have love to learn from anyone with correct information. I strive to be humble.

Please never put your real name to what you just said about it is better to use a quantitative method to understand why, how, when in behavior and thinking within a society.

The best data is qualitative with some quantitative. But the pith and substantial part will and must be qualitative.

@Antigua4ever, I respectfully say please do not ever say that publicly again. Ha ha ha ha.

      • Yo! @my way of helping…🤣🤣🤣
        …I’m a #PAN_HANDLER,
…wid, me #Iron in me hand!
        …but, unlike #RayCan!
…who may not give a damn about #Pan!
…all I want! Just give me 20 Grand!
…and, my #PANHANDLING daze; are done!

So, @my way of helping…what [methodology], would you describe as, being used by successful #PAN_HANDLERS like HellsGate Steel Orchestra, and #PANHANDLERS(Collection Plates Ushers) from Religious Institutions?
TD JAKES MADD JAKES made some cakes; and Joel Olsteen to now, Donald Trump are some of the best PANHANDLERS; so, what methodology[s], would you say they use?

Panhandlers on the corners in many inner cities are a different breed!

        Whew! Education is an indoctrinating…

Any which way, what people are concerned about are still the three(3) basic staples of life, as in; food, shelter, clothing. They could care less about which #SHEEPSKIN got sealed where and by what Institution.

Why do HUEmans exhibit these #parasitic traits? Were these habits, which over time became norms, then they got converted to a way of life, and such, will definitely define a People, who’ll now set the, ever so fluid psychological trends which now dictates CULTURE!
The Parasitic Trait, of the HUEman psyche!

        • @Ras smood, my friend, I read your response. I genuinely believe a pastor, religious leader and a minister of government should not enter politics for pay and should never be paid anything substantial to serve the people. I have been saying this even before I was 12, if my family remembers. I just think it is morally wrong. I would not accept these kinds of pays that the local politicians are paying themself.
