PM hints at return to 11 p.m curfew next week

Prime Minister Gaston Browne says the Cabinet will decide on further relaxations to the national curfew.

He said it could return to the 11 p.m to 5 a.m timeline as soon as next week.

Currently, the curfew begins at 8 p.m. Browne told Pointe FM moments ago that he is still not satisfied with the daily rate of COVID-19 infections in Antigua and Barbuda.

He maintains that returning nationals are behind the spread of the virus locally.

  2. PM kindly do what you can to make persons working in bars etc be able to go out to work. I personally have been hearing their cries. Put the onus on the operators to ensure what is necessary is maintained. If they fail then close them down individual as is normally done when restaurants run a fowl of safety standards.

  3. Gaston don’t ease up off their neck. Let them grovel and beg for a while longer. Show them how much they need you to even exist. You are the king pin that they so desperately needed. Don’t let them forget that you call all the shots.

  4. All mouths shall be fed…. It’s only fair for the curfew to begin at 11.00 PM bcuz persons are becoming vaccinated and the numbers of positive cases are dwindling gradually…… However, the administrators need to be very serious with these bars & night clubs…. There should be a database of all the bars who will be open and each one should have an officer at site to regulate the numbers of patrons .

  5. Recoveries greater than infections? Statistics are skewed. Never mind, as long as the rich get richer and the poor are supposed to be grateful for a mean wage. Keep the island open. The bars, hotels and restaurants. Soon enough there will be problems with imported variants and only the poor will suffer. The owners will just say “TOUGH” to loyal employees and carry on as usual. Disgraceful.

  6. Dictator and traitor Gaston needs to be removed from office. His creative enrichment scheme only benefits him and his cronies.
