CABINET NOTES: The Prime Minister, as Chairman of the Cabinet, wished each member of the Cabinet a healthy and successful 2025.
He reflected on the successes of 2024 but made it clear that 2025 must be even better than the year before. More resources are being expended on fixing roads, gutters and drains throughout the nation.
Water, he concluded, continues to be a challenge despite the expenditure of millions of dollars on new reverse osmosis plants.
Turbid waters have slowed the intake of the plants and, therefore, inevitably affected the output; nevertheless, the Chairman asserted, more plants will be added to bring production up from 8 million gallons daily to 12 million.

Ok so the water manager is exonerated, it is Gaston that causing water restrictions, he has now pledge to hand over more water to the citizens by his own guilty admissions , I don’t know if it’s for the bi-election.
@Elread, chuptz, choops, chupz!
However, Mr PM, it is clear that you are losing the war against the terrorists in the APUA. So much hype and financial investment were pumped into the introduction of the RO alternatives. How in–depth was the research into the effectiveness of RO plants as a solution to APUA’s recurrent failure to he provide potable water to the residents of Antigua. Either we were duped into investing millions into purchasing these RO plants, or our workmen just do not have the necessary skills to install and manage them efficiently and effectively. Case in point. After all the fanfare and hot air about the installation of these RO Plant at Fort James, the situation seems to have got worse. Example, for the last five consecutive days, not a drop of water from APUA in the areas served by this plant!!! When pressed for an explanation at AOUA’s # 211, the curt reply is always the same “high surf”. Does this make any sense? Please make it make sense!!
Don’t worry Faithful national #1.
A lot of the APUA underperformance that undermined previous water investment is being addressed very hard behind the scenes. Public Works was a public dressing down but the fact is that the needed hard talk has happened in several Ministries and Departments. Gaston Browne is not Harold or Baldwin, or that dunce Pringle Puppet of Gisele Isaac. He has a very high capacity to adjust and adapt the strategy to ensure the mission is completed.
That $110 million in 2025 to solve water by end of year will be properly used, and the new training/upskilling and Cuban/Japanese/other international consultants will bear fruit.
