Prime Minister Gaston Browne has warned members of his incoming Cabinet to uphold the highest standards of accountability, telling them that public trust must not be broken following the government’s re-election.
Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show on Pointe FM on Saturday, Browne said he has already made clear to his colleagues that their conduct in office must reflect the confidence placed in them by voters.
“I expect each of us, as minister, to uphold the trust of the people and to ensure that there is no betrayal of that trust,” he said.

He added that public resources must be used strictly for the benefit of citizens.
“To make sure that public resources are utilized exclusively for the benefit of the people of Antigua and Barbuda… to make sure that there is no abuse of public resources whatsoever,” Browne said.
Browne stressed that the government’s renewed mandate carries significant responsibility, particularly as it seeks to improve living standards and expand economic opportunities.
“The trust of the people is sacred,” he said, urging ministers to work diligently to deliver on campaign promises.
The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), led by Browne, won 15 of 17 seats in the April 30 general election, securing a strong parliamentary majority for a new term in office.
Browne said his administration will be judged on its performance and delivery, adding that ministers must work “seriously” and “strenuously” to advance national development and improve the lives of citizens.

Ok we are all Antiguan and barbudans operating under a centrist political ideology, so no need to alienate ourselves from the government and power, so I am taking the time to ask the prime minister of all the people to look favorably at a few of my suggestion for nation building, I will highlight a few and as I am taken onboard I will be grateful and indulge in other suggestions.
1. That the government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police and government solve crimes.
There is so many other things to benefit the nation to suggest but I think our safety is priority right now, I will continue to work in the interest of nation building instead of partisan politics in achieving this feat.
I am testing on the ground if my input as a citizen is valued.

There are no chips from the Chinese Streetlight.
Well, well, well, isn’t this a tacit ABLP admittance that OUR resources were being misused?
If not, why mention it in the first instance.
