All 15 successful candidates of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) have been sworn in as ministers or junior ministers, as Prime Minister Gaston Browne begins his fourth consecutive term in office.
The ceremony, held on Tuesday at the American University of Antigua, followed the party’s decisive victory in last week’s general election, where it secured 15 of 17 seats.

Despite reappointing ministers to their existing portfolios, Mr Browne said a Cabinet reshuffle could take place as early as January 2027. He said the current arrangement was intended to ensure continuity, with several ministers already leading major national projects.
Among them is Foreign Affairs Minister E. P. Chet Greene, who is overseeing preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Education Minister Daryll Matthew will continue work on expanding the UWI Five Islands Campus.
Mr Browne also highlighted ongoing efforts to address utility challenges under ICT, Utilities and Energy Minister Melford Nicholas, particularly water supply issues. Housing and Works Minister Maria Browne remains responsible for a nationwide road and infrastructure programme.
New and returning ministers were assigned portfolios immediately following the election, including Charles Fernandez(Tourism), Anthony Smith (Agriculture), Dwayne George (Sports), and Michael Joseph (Health), among others.
Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin had been sworn in earlier.
While the Cabinet remains largely unchanged, the Prime Minister said adjustments are likely as the administration progresses into its new term.

The World Boss whom I respect has made one mega error. APUA needs a leader with a vision who is willing to lead. Not the same old same old. ABLP nearly lost in 2023 over water. 3 years later very little has changed even though they boast and lie about the millions of gallons being produced.
I hope that folks from Willikies, Freetown, Old Road and other areas that do not get water can make their pain known.
This story is inaccurate. All fifteen CANNOT be appointed as minister or junior minister. At least one elected member has to serve as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and so cannot be appointed as a minister or junior minister. The person identified to be nominated for the post of deputy speaker is Dr. Philmore Benjamin, MP for St. Mary’s North. He therefore was not appointed as either a minister or junior minister.
What what happened to Barbuda Affairs. I noticed that no one was assigned to that
