Prime Minister Gaston Browne is urging church leaders to collaborate on youth delinquency prevention in Antigua and Barbuda. Speaking at the 50th anniversary church service for the Beacon Light Church of the Nazarene, he stressed the importance of providing strong spiritual guidance for children and grandchildren.
Despite notable community changes, youth delinquency remains a concern.
He called upon the church and spiritual leaders across the nation to intensify their efforts in fostering spiritual development among the youth.
Browne emphasized that this responsibility extends to the entire society, and he pledged a $50,000.00 donation to support delinquent youths and social programs at the Beacon Light Church of the Nazarene.
The church expressed gratitude for his support.

Big up the HON. GASTON BROWNE for this ACTION!
Dont you think the government should implement social activities to help steer the youths of this country in the right direction?
What can Mr. SIMON do, given the man didn’t even have a chance in office before he was fought out of it. The right honorable Gaston Brown on the other decriminalized Marijuana, and now we have a nation of a bunch of mentally ill young people walking the streets of Antigua. In the words of my Jamaican friend, “a pure mad people dey ya”.
GASTON BROWNE,IT IS NICE OF YOU ASKING THE CHURCHES TO HELP IN THIS MATTER.WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE OF THIS NATION.I DO HOPE IT DOES NOT INCLUDES SMOKING OF DOPE.YOU AS FINANCE MINISTER CONTROLS THE FINANCES OF THE COUNTRY.MEET WITH NGO’S AND DRAW UP PLANS THAT INCENTIVIZE THE YOUNG ONES IN THE COUNTRY.AFTER ALL THE MONEY BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE,SO SPEND IT ON THE PEOPLE.
Fully agreed that we need all facets of the country to come together in order to provide some leadership and direction to our children. The family, the community, the church, civil society , youth groups and others must work together to stem the declining values that is stifling the country and the youths in particular. Sometimes the rhetoric coming out of parliament is not helpful and I hope that our leaders would play a LEAD ROLE in helping to bring about these changes.
Out of Chaos Comes Order!
The same ones(the church and state – partners in crime) who create the problems are the same ones, who’ll attempt to mitigate and solve these problems?!😌😀😀😀It will never, ever happen.
It has not happened in Centuries, it’s not happening now, and unless major changes takes place in such areas, as education, in the employment practices, in the management of the PEOPLES monies dealing with such things as embezzlement, fraud, insider trading, cronyism etc, in the purported upper echelon of society’s structure/matrix, those, the youths who supposedly are in need of guidance will not comply, since, they live and thrive in a society, in a culture where the adults/parents are just as GUILTY of comitting crimes which the youths are being targeted for.
Deal with the ENTIRE BODY of the BEAST roaming the streets. If the HEAD IS ROTTEN the CARCASS will be too!

If Gaston can curb his behavior it would send a positive message to the youth. When he acts like a gangster, he is helping to model bad behavior. Work on yourself first Prime Minister and then perhaps you can get others to take you seriously.
We have a generation of parents who are not interested in church and so do not send their children to church. The church cannot help parents if the children learn on thing in church and that is eroded for the rest of the week in the home.
Nevertheless, if the parents are not going to attend church they should at least send their children. Some of them certainly can be reached through that channel.
I see nothing wrong with what the PM is saying. I also think there should be censorship on the music played over the airwaves. Violence, drugs and sex in music are turning these kids crazy
The PM encourages the youths to smoke as them like rushing to decrimilise ,without educating the youths about smoking, he created the problem now want the church to fix it, they never consulted the church in the past but want the church to fix the problem.
What’s turning these kids of today more than ever is the poverty stricken household they coming from….THE overburdened mother who struggles to provide but keep breeding like dawgs….
Fathers are absent or so feminine they CANT or won’t LEAD can you imagine your father dnt care NOTHING about you and have to watch your mother suffer or get with men jus for money to feed her children. …… most men are concerned about what their current women need than that of their children.
Now weed is legalized it seems that they are lacing it with something else and the abuse of the weed overall….. so now they high with little to no education if any plus no ambition to go trade school it’s smoke all day ……add to that MOST of them are DISRESPECTFUL ASF ….HAVE BAD ATTITUDE …..CONSTANT PEER PRESSURE.
Now the constant dancehall music laced with gun talking fused with no ambition always high always angry bcos they have NOTHING And NOBODY CARES THAT MUCH FOR THEM…..TIME ON HAND the devil now finds work for them to do…. Which most times leads to destruction
Gaston needs to censor the airwaves certain artists music jus will not play in Antigua
Didn’t the prime minister give them four trees and decriminilze
Marijuana..now we have a nation of weed smokers that act like zombies …
And now he crying and complaining over the problem he
Created!
What am I missing here?
You wanted to give them weed for vote and now you crying!!
Take your crocodile tears and give me a break!!
Please!
Smh!!
I guess no one even mention the pledge of the PM of $50,000.00. I guess that doesn’t mean a thing. Well once again the PM has shown how generous a man he is, giving to a worthy cause. I have not seen any Prime Minister not here and not in the region make so many generous contributions to charitable causes. Hurricane Irma he pledged $100K to the Barbuda Relieve Funds. The list is long but if you guys want I can list them in my next comment.
Acts.20
[35] I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
