In a letter sent to the newly elected Prime Minister, Browne said, “On behalf of the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda, I extend my sincerest congratulations to you and the members of the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) on your landslide victory at the polls.”

PM Browne went on to state that the people of Saint Lucia have let their voices be heard and have instilled significant confidence in Pierre and his party, the Saint Lucia Labour Party, to navigate the current challenges being faced in the country.

Browne continued by stating that he looks forward to working with Pierre in his regional capacity.

“As Chairman of CARICOM, I look forward to working with you to strengthen regional development and integration.

Once again congratulations, and please accept the assurances of my highest consideration,” Prime Minister Browne ended.

Philip J. Pierre is expected to be sworn in today, Wednesday 28th July.

Pierre will serve as the country’s ninth (9th) Prime Minister after his party won a landslide victory on Monday, securing 13 out of 17 parliamentary seats, defeating outgoing prime minister Allen Chastanet’s United Workers Party.

  1. At last Trump’s closes ally in the Caribbean has been sent packing. The Labour Party won an overwhelming victory. Another victory for the social democratic/democratic socialist forces. The people have spoken.

    • More like Trump’s puppet 🙄
That man Chastanet is a Uncle Tom, Massa and Snake.
Kiss up trump arse even after the “shithole countries” comment and breaking rank with Caricom. Not to mention he refused to pay into Liat, but no issue with paying the fees for the international white man airlines. Just a real Dumbo who showed his true colors. Bye bye Chastanet 👋🏿
