Director of the National Public Library Ryllis Mannix (left) accepts the donation of school supplies from Public Relations Manager at Sandals Grande Antigua Amar Spencer-Sayers (right). The supplies are being donated to students who are participating in the library’s Annual Summer Reading Programme. The Sandals Foundation made the timely donation for roughly 260 public and private sector students from primary and secondary schools across the island. The Sandals Foundation proudly supports this library initiative which encourages the love of reading and in turn contributes to improvement of literacy skills which impact children’s overall academic performance. The programme which runs from July 1 to July 26, includes classes such as storytelling and story writing, arts and craft, sign language, drip irrigation, among other areas of focus.
