Phase two of Government House restoration set to begin

A contractor has been selected to commence the restoration of the west wing buildings of Government House. Challenger’s Enterprises was selected from among nine construction companies which were invited to submit bids on the west wing of the Government House Property.

A significant amount of site preparation has already been done with the assistance of inmates from Her Majesty’s Prison Rehabilitation Programme.  Construction is expected to commence in October 2018.

US$750,000.00 has been donated by the Ayre Group for this West Wing Building. The team members include, but are not limited to Project Supervisor, Wesley James, Deputy Director of Public Works, Project Manager, Phillip Logan of Philip Logan Enterprises, Project Engineer, Everon Zachariah of CEAS Ltd and Donor Representative, Patrick Delowsky of the Ayre Group.  

Governor General, His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams has expressed his delight at the commencement of work on Phase II of the Government House Restoration Initiative. The Governor General further stated that much praise must go to the Ayre Group for their generosity and interest in helping us to protect and preserve the history and heritage of our country for present and future generations.
