The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) today issued an advisory based on a Cabinet decision, outlining items which are now exempt from ABST payment.
These include antiseptics such as Rubbing Alcohol, Alcolado, Hydrogen Peroxide, Dettol (antiseptic), Salve and Florida Water.
It was also noted that disinfectant wipes like Clorox and Lysol and cleaning wipes will also be exempted, in addition to toilet paper, paper towels, aloe vera gel, vitamin C and other multivitamins.
Persons may also purchase sanitizers for personal and commercial use in gel, foam, liquid and spray forms ABST free.
Cabinet says the decision is in an effort to provide relief to persons during this time when these items are essential to remain healthy from the COVID-19 virus and in order to mitigate its spread.
