Soca superstar Patrice Roberts brought the Trinidad heat to Brooklyn at the Wingate Park Concert. The concert was co-headlined by dancehall/reggae legend Gyptian.
She performed singles “I Like It Hot” and “A Little Wine” and closed the show with her latest international hit, “Mind My Business.” Patrice got up close and personal with her fans, and even jumped into the crowd.
The energy of her performance filled the entire park. She also took the time to take photos with her many supporters after the concert finished. Other surprise guest performances included Capella Grey and soca artist Mr.Legz.
Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso reinstated the beloved summer concert series. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual series had to be scaled back. The event captured the essence of the Caribbean spirit and incidentally the venue is located in the Flatbush neighborhood, now known as “Little Caribbean.”
The concert was free of charge to the general public and offered the community access to vital services. The event included on-site health screenings provided by partnered hospitals NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, and Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.
