PARTIAL ROAD CLOSURE:  From Thursday 8TH March, 2018.

This serves as notice to allow for the safety of road users during construction works associated with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project which is a grant being provided by the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund.

Beginning on Monday 12th March, 2018 a different section of Friars Hill Road will be closed each day:  250ft or 76.2m from West Indies Oil Pond leading southwards along Friars Hill Road on the eastern side of the road will be affected by utility works for the installation of water lines.

Each day a new section measuring (250ft or 76.2m) of phase two (from West Indies Oil Pond to the Public Cemetery) will be closed. Road users are urged to exercise extreme caution.  

Monday to Friday:  7:00am to 5:30pm | Saturday: 7:00am to 1:00pm

DURATION: ONE DAY

DIVERSION(S): Marble Hill Road.

 

Diversion signs will be visible for all road users who are being asked to proceed with caution for the duration of the roadworks. There will be workers in high visibility reflective gear at the road closure and flag people will be there to direct traffic. Local access will be maintained for road users who are residents and individuals conducting business at the business places within the closure. There will be no parking along main roads or side roads in the area.
