Malaka Parker, the United Progressive Party (UPP) candidate for St John’s Rural North, says she is offering herself as a “frontline” representative for residents she claims have been neglected for years.
Parker said her daily canvassing has been “gruelling,” but driven by concern for constituents and a growing awareness of hardship in the area.
A central focus of her campaign is the absence of what she describes as effective representation by the current Member of Parliament. She said residents frequently complain that their MP is “largely unseen and unfelt” in the community.
Parker has announced a town hall meeting for Thursday, saying it forms part of a wider plan for consistent community engagement if elected.
She added that she believes the constituency is ready for change, saying: “I feel that I’m on the cusp of change.”

This girl is truly DELUSIONAL!

“I feel that I’m on the cusp of change.”
how you FEEL and REALITY are 2 different things ma’am
@losers
Not only delusional. Traitorous. If Gassy had given her what she wanted, mercifully we would not have to put up with her schitz. She should be where Chanell and the others are. Not with the party that she helped to pull down.
Don’t want to hear nothing from her. Not all of us have short memory
I mean people have their problems with Melford, but she really think she’s a better candidate? Another wasteof time
I get this is the silly season of election boasts and propaganda but Parker’s comments are pure fantasy and completely incorrect and I am not the only one laughing at them today. She claims we, St. John’s Rural North residents, have been neglected? Hahaha. No, not all. That Max is largely unseen and unfelt? Hahaha. We see him around weekly and he engages with the residents often.
The residents are happy with what Max has done to our community and have generously donated to his office and campaign over the years. We wouldn’t do that if we had been neglected or ignored. Parker on the other hand is completely unknown to most in our area but those who do know her remember that she abandoned the UPP once before and then abandoned the other party too. See a trend here? The fact of the matter is she has no hope of beating Max and she knows it.
