SOURCE POINTE XPRESS- The 2024-25 winter cruise season is in full swing as Tuesday marked the arrival of four cruise ships, bringing over 9,000 visitors to the country in a single day.
The vessels included Nautica from Oceanic Cruises with 690 passengers, Rotterdam from Holland America Line with 2,668 passengers, Britannia from P&O Cruises with 3,648 passengers, and MSC Magnifica from MSC Cruises carrying 2,518 passengers.
This occasion marks the first time this season that four ships have docked at St. John’s Harbour in one day—a frequency anticipated to repeat throughout the season, enhancing visitor numbers and economic activity.
Preparations are also underway for the arrival of P&O Cruises’ Arvia, set to make its first seasonal visit. Although Arvia will not be based permanently in the port, it will stay overnight, arriving Saturday morning and departing Sunday evening.
Thousands of Arvia’s passengers are expected to disembark in St. John’s, with some leaving on charter flights and others beginning their cruise journeys from Antigua.
The Antigua Cruise Port, in collaboration with local agents Delisle, Walwyn, and Francis, has spent the past week making extensive preparations to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for the incoming visitors.

St John’s town looks like a dump, over grown bushes all over the country, bad roads and poor drainage
