Over 55 Pounds of Cannabis Seized at Main Ports

Cannabis, totaling 55 ½ pounds was seized at the two main ports of entry, following separate drug operations between the Police and Customs on Thursday.

A total of 26 ½ pounds of the controlled drug was seized at the airport from two separate shipments; while at the Deep Water Harbour, another 29 pounds were discovered in a barrel with food items.

The seizures are estimated to value $359,000.

Both law enforcement agencies are carrying out further investigations into the matter.

  1. They may not be able to solve a crime if it was sitting on their lap, but u have to give them credit for sniffing out weed. A&B police can find weed anywhere u hide it. If weed possession was the only crime in A&B, we would have the best performing police force in the world..

  2. Why so frequent discoveries of cannabis at the port? This can only mean one thing, the port workers are involved. The authorities have to screen the port workers. Set up cameras at the off loading sites and in the bond and have customs security monitoring the screens. Goods being cleared must be sniffed by those trained canines.
