House Speaker Osbert Frederick

Former Senator Osbert Frederick has been elevated as Speaker of the House of Assembly in Antigua and Barbuda.

He took his oath of office moments ago in the Lower House.

Speaker Frederick was elected unopposed and replaces Sir Gerald Watt QC who resigned earlier today.

  1. Well at least he born in All Saints, so maybe with such a prestigious background, the new Speaker of the House of Assembly will insist on more independent scrutiny of the current government, and require transparency in all political matters.
