There is a book, ‘Afghanistan where God only comes to Weep’ where the many years of turmoil have reduced the people of Afghanistan to terror and tears. And when one realizes that the US was the one who entered the war, training and arming the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden to chase out the Russians, and now to abandon their support against the very people they said they cared for is brutish and very American. Pulling out and leaving their Afghanistan allies to perish under the Taliban.

We see this kind of selfish behaviour exhibited by governments the world over, where the dictator mentality is gaining ground, and politicians and countries treat people like dogs under their command.

America on the other hand gives the impression that they are the leaders of democracy and must police the world to install their type of ‘democracy’ which is usually race-based and allows for their American interests to be maintained.

After using Afghanistan as a dog uses a rag-doll for twenty years the good and fair, old and respected Maximum leader Biden looks at the war-torn country which they have reduced to abject poverty and exclusion from the rest of the world and says they must now fight their own war and find their own freedom.

Something is wrong with what our leaders are eating, drinking, smoking, or shooting up! Those who may have managed not to imbibe or be  drugged are so caught up with enriching themselves that the people do not matter as the spirit of corruptionism takes hold of their administration.

It’s like us here in Antigua, going from bad to worse, where there is such contempt for the people of Antigua like those of Afghanistan; they are used, abused regularly as incompetents, as charlatans, deracinated imbeciles, thugs, inbreeders, and reduced to abject poverty.

If God only weeps Afghanistan, what about Antigua!

  1. Great article as usual Makeda. SEKUNDA X her point is very simple and clear and it is this, perhaps Antigua and Barbuda needs more help than Afghanistan. You may ask what kind of help? I will offer an answer. Just like Afghanistan may need help soon to get rid of the Taliban, we may also need help to get rid of a government that does not respect the Rule of Law.

    • As I thought, when Mekeda past articles were about Sir Lester Bird and giving him his flowers, you Tabor had nothing to say. Cause you could not ever be caught saying anything good about any labour party member. And especially a Bird. You have exposed yourself time and time again of not being genuine and un-bias in your comments. Shame on you.

  2. We are not getting stoned or beheaded for nothing, you can’t compare Antigua with Afghanistan – it’s Ridiculous! 🤯

  3. “When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favor -When you see men get richer by graft and pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you -When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming self sacrifice -You may know that your society is doomed.”
