A Safer Future in the Hands of Labour
Appreciating the Tremendous Work of the Gaston Browne-led Administration
By: Juante G. Kirby
Over the past 11 years, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), under the leadership of Prime Minister Gaston Browne, has made remarkable strides in nation-building, with a strong focus on youth empowerment and inclusivity. Their continued commitment to fostering opportunities for young people and uplifting the differently-abled has shaped a progressive and thriving Antigua and Barbuda.
Empowering the Youth: A Nation of Opportunity
One of the administration’s most notable achievements is the significant rise in youth employment since taking office. More young people today have access to stable jobs, equipping them with financial independence and paving the way for a better future. This surge in employment is a testament to the government’s commitment to youth advancement.
Additionally, owning land and homes has become much more accessible for young Antiguans and Barbudans. The government has worked to ease the process, allowing young people to secure assets that will provide long-term stability. This initiative empowers individuals to build generational wealth, ensuring that the youth of today can confidently work toward their dreams.
Another game-changing policy introduced by this administration is the duty-free initiative on imported vehicles. This has given a huge percentage of young individuals the chance to own reliable transportation, making life easier and more convenient. A measure like this enhances productivity, ensuring that our youth can actively engage in work, education, and entrepreneurship with greater efficiency.
Building Leaders & Entrepreneurs for Tomorrow
Recognizing the potential of young business minds, the ABLP implemented the Entrepreneur Fund, providing financial support for young entrepreneurs. This initiative has unlocked countless opportunities for small businesses, empowering young people to turn ideas into reality and contribute to the economy. The government’s dedication to fostering innovation has helped shape the next generation of business leaders.
Furthermore, education remains a top priority for the administration. The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Program has allowed countless young individuals to pursue higher education, eliminating financial barriers to academic success. Education is the backbone of a strong nation, and through this initiative, the government is ensuring that every young person has the chance to excel.
The establishment of the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus has been a monumental step in tertiary education. Antigua and Barbuda now has its own university, allowing young people to access world-class education at home without the need to seek costly overseas studies. This investment in higher learning strengthens local talent, ensuring that our youth can compete on a global scale.
Youth Representation in Government
One of the most commendable aspects of the administration’s leadership is the active inclusion of young minds in governance. Young individuals have been given the opportunity to serve in the Senate and Parliament, ensuring that fresh perspectives and ideas are integrated into national decision-making. This is democracy in action, inspiring youth participation in shaping the future of the nation.
Supporting the Differently-Abled Community
Alongside their commitment to youth empowerment, the ABLP government has been a champion for the differently-abled. Policies aimed at inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities have ensured that every citizen is given the respect, resources, and support they deserve. The administration continues to work toward breaking barriers and making Antigua and Barbuda a country where everyone can thrive, regardless of physical or developmental challenges.
A Call to Action: Continue Supporting Progress
With these many advancements and ongoing efforts, it is clear that our future is truly safer in the hands of Labour. The youth of Antigua and Barbuda must recognize the transformational leadership of Prime Minister Gaston Browne and the ABLP administration. Their commitment to empowering young people, supporting businesses, strengthening education, and uplifting the differently-abled is unmatched.
Let’s continue to support an administration that values progress, opportunities, and the voices of the youth. Together, we can ensure that Antigua and Barbuda remains a beacon of hope and success for generations to come.

This midget can go back where he come from! Crime is rampant, and most are never solved. Antigua people still can’t get water. Public education is still the worst in the WI. This bird midget must be on crack.
Any street runner to a made soldier is SAFER in the arms of the Mafia until you cross the line of the leaders. Cross the line of Labour and a Kirby could become a pickled cucumber to go with a corn beef sandwich.
ABLP should patent their 3D human generating printer that use tissue as the source material.
One big load of poo poo, you must have been in a drunken stupor
When a country advance, the people advance with it, the infrastructure advance with it, the spirit and the culture advance with it.
Where has Antigua really advance in the last 15 years? The infrastructure is one of the worse in all the developing nations in the Caribbean, where the city has some of the most delapidated buildings around.
Antigua has some of the worst roads that has cost the citizens and tourists alike, billions, water is still a serious problem for a so-called advance nation, crime is woefully increasing to where the people are crippled by fear, the mental state of many needs immediate attention, the immigration system and judicial system are still run by idiots.
So where is this great advancement?
They blame a lot on COVID, but many other nations experience the same COVID set back and have seen vast improvement in their healthcare and social service. Antigua has more homeless people and stray dogs than these leaders care to admit.
Any smart person with a laptop in their hands can breach any bank system or intelligence system in Antigua..so where is this “Great advancement”?
And don’t mention the youth, it seems like half of them has settled for smoking weed and become thieves and robbers at a early age.
Those are the facts on the ground Gatson Browne, not this foolishness that is written with this Article.
Hypocrites these people are. Call a spade a spade.. Antigua has not advance anywhere. Culturally,Antigua doesn’t even have a brand to call there own, and Carnival has gone to the dogs.
So just stop it.
Betrayal of his great mother whose son which is his great uncle, was called back to Antigua horizons while robin was manager and accountant, the nanton young man must have romanced a blonde young white girl, at that time mr laffery that fence the beach was an apartheid racist klu klax klan along with up at the hill where the whites live, we could go as gardeners and maids but when it gets dark and a black person is in the area, the police would be called, so this young nanton went on his after dark date with this white girl which angered the white community of long bay, robin Yearwood himself a Caucasian extraction initiated a scheme to get the young man to return to long bay where the white racist community killed him and placed him in ankle height water and said he was asphyxiated, at that time we weren’t independent and england won’t concern itself about a black life, the mill reef bus bomb comes to mind also, where the white people had the white administrator of England sweep it under the carpet and encouraging the locals to believe it’s superstition since they was kept illiterate and church harvested their brain. The great grandmother of davonte cried on her step before she died that the st Philip north MP must beg her pardon before she died, it never happened. Davonte will be chasing a mirage because of his economic situation to no success, none in his family was ever given a chance by the MP.
I don’t even feel like breaking this down. But good to know he was hiding in Gaston’s pocket all this time I feel like everyone knows the short people of Antigua since it’s a small country
Oh please !! One set of people maker all the money this article makes me laugh it’s so funny, who’s the dummy that believes ABLP Christmas ham was yummy, NOT ME….
All imma say if you need to tell people “The youth of Antigua and Barbuda must recognize the transformational leadership” you’re probably not doing a good job because you shouldn’t need to tell someone that their life is good. Because trust me a lot of people realized how transformative it is it’s transforming Antigua into shit, and if Barbuda didn’t have their cuncil they would have been sold off long time ago.
Also I hate this car first culture, only reason people are running to get cars is because there is no other alternative to get around in a timely manner, only English harbor and liberta bus is decent and reliable, and I had a bitter sweet move to this route as a child because first of all bus runs late into the night and 7 days a week no more running to east bus station before the last bus leave at like 6pm. During secondary school my friends walked whole after Carnival and if you life on some off route spot the amount of walking you have to do I can’t really fault people for running for cars because after work they don’t even want to cook dinner much less. Not only this car first culture limits people choice of getting around it causes a simple problem. more cars = more traffic.
