One person ordered deported after strip clubs raid

As a result of the joint operation spearheaded by the Trafficking in Persons (Prevention) Committee (TIPPC) last weekend, one person who was found to be in violation of the country’s immigration laws was charged, convicted and ordered removed from the state. All other persons were released pending further investigations.

While the operation at the two establishments did not yield any victims of human trafficking, investigations are ongoing. The TIPPC will continue to monitor suspicious activities to ensure that no human being becomes a victim of human trafficking in Antigua and Barbuda.
