One new case of COVID-19 in Antigua and Barbuda

Dashboard Update for December 18, 2020

 

The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) have revealed one new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Thursday 17th December 2020 at 6pm.

Subsequent to the publication of the dashboard on Thursday 17th December 2020 with the cut off time of 6pm, seventy-seven samples were processed at the Mount St. John’s Medical Center which increased the pending results from thirty-five to one hundred and twelve.

All seventy-seven samples processed by MSJMC yielded negative results and are reflected in the total persons tested and total samples taken columns of the dashboard.

Of the thirty-five samples processed by CARPHA, thirty-four were negative and one positive. The single case was imported.

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one hundred and fifty-two (152); which is inclusive of six (6) active cases.

Meanwhile, one hundred and fourteen samples are pending at MSJMC.

The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

  1. Every time 1 recover 1 new case , that seems like fictitious figures always remaining the same, the lower the cases more restrictions, sometimes it seems like cases are manufactured to continue controlling the people.

    “A class of 40 students do an exam each one get the same answers wrong continuously is it not a cause for concern?”

    How come the cases always the same from since march? after i type this i will see a difference in the numbers

    The same statistics for that period of time doesn’t add up

    • Countries that have better protocols have higher numbers than Antigua

      Antigua doesn’t test or quarantine tourists and active cases are always 9 or below
