The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) has revealed no new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 case in Antigua and Barbuda as of Friday 18th December 2020 at 6pm.
Of the one hundred and fourteen samples processed by MSJMC, one hundred and thirteen were negative and one positive. The single positive case was a repeat test.
Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda remains at one hundred and fifty-two (152); which is inclusive of six (6) active cases.
Meanwhile,ninety-six samples are pending at MSJMC.

The abst relief should have been spread over a longer period. Concentrating it fri-sunday does not acknowledge 3 things which pertain to in-store shopping (i)the curfew (ii)practicing physical distancing/limiting numbers in busy stores.
Bottomline is, we seem not to be encouraging what we are preaching on the one hand, while encouraging ” gathering ” with its resultant potential to cause a rise in numbers on the other hand.
