Officials Warn Against Unauthorised Removal Of Trees From Public Areas

The Department of Environment today reminded the public that it is illegal to remove trees in any public area without the express permission from the relevant authorities at the Department of Environment.

The department said persons who remove trees without permission can be subject to large fines and other penalties as per the Environmental Protection and Management Act 2019.

It did not indicate what prompted this incident.
