Officials tight-lipped on reports that 7 Indians who were denied entry into Antigua are now “missing”

Editor’s Note: The Antigua and Barbuda Department of Immigration has not responded to the report below despite being contacted by phone, email, text messages.

REAL NEWS: Indian nationals reportedly evade deportation

He reports that these Indian citizens were denied entry at the V.C. Bird International Airport when they arrived.

However, instead of securing the travelers  at the Department of Immigration’s Detention Centre at Coolidge, officials allegedly allowed them to check into a hotel — and now they reportedly cannot be found.

Immigration officials are said to be tight-lipped, and there has been no official confirmation of this alleged incident.

However, copies of passports reportedly belonging to these persons have gone into circulation via social media, and one Immigration officer has confirmed Wehner’s report to our News Room.

Social-media reports also claim that the disappearance of these Indians was facilitated by security personnel.

This has sparked fears that another attempt to abduct CIP citizen Mehul Choksi could be underway, since the 2021 effort did not result in his rendition to his native India.

In the meantime, one woman tells REAL News she hopes the Haitians who escaped Immigration are not found.  This, she says, is because they were detained by the authorities while the Indians were not held, and she sees the disparate treatment as “naked racism.”

    What is going on in the Immigration Department in Antigua? All of a sudden,why so many blunders. I come into Antigua every year for about 10 days each time. They would ask me a million questions every time. Where am I staying and for how long. Yes,I am using a Foreign Passport of a Country of which I am a Naturalized Citizen of. In that Passport,that I have been using for years. In it place of birth does say Antigua and Barbuda. I had to have a discussion with the Immigration Officer last year in Antigua. I did tell him that a Holberton Hospital me barn. I went on to tell him that regardless of the Passport,a Antigua me come fram. Now they are having issues with non born Antiguans. They are now running like wild animals in Antigua. How it is the Immigration Chief came out and made a statement on the HAITIANS but not one damn word on the INDIANS.

    The journalists and reporters who work at the media houses are afraid to do their work. So they need to change their profession since they really do not understand the job description.

  10. If & when the Chief Immigration Officer reports to the people, I hope she explains WHY the hugely differing treatment, and media communications spin, from her Department, on Indians v Haitians.
    This stinks.
