Nutgrove fire leaves 5 homeless

A fire in the wee hours of Monday morning has left five people homeless. According to Fire Chief Elvis Weaver, the St. John’s Fire Station received a call for response to a fire in Nutgrove at 3:40am on Monday 10th January, 2022.

 

Upon arriving on the scene, they discovered three wooden structures engulfed in flames. The structures affected were 21 by 13 feet, 32 by 17 feet and 10 by 10 feet in size.

 

Chief Warner said all the structures were supplied with electricity.

 

Pointing out the extensive damage which had been done, he added that he was uncertain whether the buildings were covered by insurance.

 

The cause of the fire did not appear to be immediately clear, however, investigations into the reason for the blaze are ongoing. (POINTE XPRESS)
