CABINET NOTES:

The Cabinet agreed to expand the nursing program in order to increase the number of nurses that are available to serve the population of Antigua and Barbuda. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATSAPP GROUP.

In order to enter the nursing program students must have no fewer than 5 CXC subjects, including Math and English.

Those young men and women who desire to become nurses but who have fewer subjects than required are going to be prepared by the expanded program of ABICE to achieve the threshold, while preparing also for the Nursing School’s core subjects.

  1. What happened to the stipend that was promised to the nursing students who started the program last year at UWI Five Islands Campus?

    • All who met the threshold was paid the stipend. Students who fail are not eligible.

  2. If you want to keep nurses in the profession, you have to pay them or once trained, they will go to greener pastures.

  3. Presumably Min of Health has clear contact in place with each student…
Big countries very aggressively targeting Caribbean countries for nurses, offering market salaries, relocation expenses etc & benefits of the country who is courting!
