NOTICE: TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES: REDUCED RUNNING LANE:

This serves as notice to allow for the safety of road users during construction works associated with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project which is a grant being provided by the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund (UKCIF).

The project is now at phase two (2) – West Indies Oil Pond to the Public Cemetery.

Monday to Friday:  7:00am to 5:30pm | Saturday: 7:00am to 1:00pm

During the week commencing 12 March, 2018:  Reduced width Lanes: Friars Hill Road– Southbound between West Indies Oil Company & Caribbean Cinemas (Flag people will institute a stop and go system).  Working southwards, the eastern (southbound lane) of the road will be affected by utility works for the installation of water lines. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

                          DURATION: Five days (a different section each day)

  DIVERSION(S): -N/A-

 

ONLY A SECTION OF THE LANE ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE ROAD WILL REMAIN CLOSED. The Western lane of the road will remain open. Passage north and southbound will be maintained throughout.  Road users are urged to exercise extreme caution when traversing in the construction site.  

Warning signs will be visible for all road users who are being asked to proceed with caution for the duration of the road works. There will be workers in high visibility reflective gear at the lane closure and flag people will be there to provide guidance. Local access will be maintained for road users who are residents and individuals conducting business at the business places within the closed lane.

No parking will be allowed along main roads or side roads in the area.
