NOTICE: Road Closures To Facilitate Markings

Date: Friday 18th September 2020.
 
Road work under the Government of Antigua and Barbuda Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project will continue with road markings on Friars Hill Road. A road closure is planned for a section of Sir George Walter Highway to Sir Sidney Walling Hwy. 
 
The Traffic Management/ road works plan for the week of 21st to 27th September 2020 are as follows:
Work on Friars Hill Road:  

Line marking works will continue in phase 1A between Cedar Grove Junction to Sincere Drive.
Date: Monday 21st September
Duration in section: 1 week
An appeal is being made for motorists to exercise extreme caution while workers are undertaking these works.

ROAD CLOSURES:          Dur: Two (2) weeks 

Road works will continue in phase 3F between St. John’s St and Cross St.
There are plans to undertake general earthworks and paving at the junction with YMCA.
Local access is being maintained. Business owners, customers and residents trying to gain access are asked to enter from northern end of closure – from the Dickenson Bay Junction end.

Work on Sir George Walter Hwy:

Roadworks will continue this week in Phase 2B between Mi Casa Imports Ltd to Sir Sidney Walling Hwy (Factory Rd) Junction.
Date: Monday 21st September 2020 to October 3rd, 2020
Duration: 2 weeks

Local access will be maintained for the duration of this closure and there will be business as usual. Business owners, customers and residents trying to gain access are asked to enter from northern end of closure from Dees service station (Rubis) Junction.
Road users are urged to be mindful that closures are put in place as a safety measure. Residents and people conducting business are advised follow guidelines for entering the closure limits of the construction site.

  1. this has got to be a joke. why all this couldn’t have been done when the sections are closed off. eg: after fixing the roads why can’t they be marked one time before reopening. all this second and third closure is just ridiculous.
    now here we are just after a few months we are repairing sections of a new built road.
    WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON? WHO IS MAMAGING THIS PROJECT?

  2. Could you believe it that the same washable paint is being used mark the road. Expect another remarking by Christmas.

    • Your so right hotmelt road marking paint should be used, lasts for years and dries very quickly, so little disruption to traffic.
