Night Time Road Closure.
Date: 6th – 13th January 2020
This serves as notice to allow for the safety of road users during construction works associated with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project which is a grant being provided by the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund (UKCIF). Two (2) major highways are affected by reduced running lanes:
Full Closure: The Junction of Coolidge and Sir George Walter Hwy.
Work on Sir George Walter Hwy:
Road closure scheduled at Coolidge junction to facilitate roadworks between Ice House to North of CPR.
Date: Monday 6th January 2020.
Duration: 1 week
Traffic Management: Single lane traffic with use of 2-way traffic lights.
To avoid traffic congestion during peak hours; the motoring public may use Barnes/Powell’s route to get to and from V.C Bird Int. Airport.
Work on Friars Hill Rd:
Roadworks continue between West Indies Oil Company (W.I.O.C) to West Indies Oil Gas Station.

Traffic Management: Single lane traffic with use of 2-way traffic lights
Drainage works to continue in the following areas:
- Linear drainage installation continues from Caribbean Pharmaceuticals to Romeo’s Plumbing
Motorists should drive with extreme caution and vigilance, especially at night. Local access will be maintained.
No parking will be allowed along main roads or side roads in the area.
