The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Barbuda Affairs regrettably announces that following a meeting of the Steering Committee today (Thursday), it has made a decision to postpone PiAngo Fest which was scheduled to be held 28th-29th August 2021.
The move comes on the heels of new measures announced by Cabinet relating to public gatherings for which only ten (10) persons are allowed.
Chairperson of the PiAngo Fest Steering Committee, Marcelle Freeland expressed profound gratitude to all the vendors who were ready and eager to be a part of the newly dubbed “PiAngo on the Go,” a name we attached to this year’s event as it was being planned and designed with all the COVID-19 Protocols in mind and members of the public were being encouraged to ‘shop and go’.
Registration so far at the ministry for the event was encouraging and the ministry would be reaching out to said vendors about the next step regarding refund and possible future events depending on developments regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Kudos was also given to all members of the committee and sub-committee members who had already begun to ‘hit the ground running’ with plans and promotions for the local event.
Special recognition was also given to Marketing Consultant, Oriel Walter who would have gone ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the success of the event.
