NOTICE: Firearm Holders Reminded To Renew Their Licences

1

The Police Administration within the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is reminding ALL licensed firearm holders that their license becomes payable before 31st May each year.

That is in accordance with Section 40 (4) of the Firearms Act, Cap 171 of the Laws of Antigua and Barbuda, as Amended.

As a result of the current 24hrs lockdown curfew brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the hours of operation at the Licensing Department at Police Headquarters have changed. The new office hours are from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, Monday-Friday.

Licensed firearm holders are required to present their firearms to the Licensing Officer before a renewal license is granted. A late fee of $50 will be charged for anyone who fails to meet the specified period. Failure to comply with the stipulated guidelines may lead to revocation of your firearm license.

The public is further reminded to observe all the health and social distancing protocols when conducting any business at Police Headquarters.

  1. Why they cannot renew those firearms licenses on line. Why persons have to show up to renew their licenses in Antigua and Barbuda. They should not have to bring their firearms to renew their firearm licenses. This is the 21st Century.Move up with the times Antigua and Barbuda.I am a license firearms holder.I do the renewal on line.It is a replica of my drivers license.Instead of saying drivers license,it says gun license with my picture on it.
