National Shut Down Wednesday 29th July

The following is a statement from the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS):

Acting on the advice of the Hon. Prime Minister, Gaston Browne and after consultation with the Antigua and Barbuda Met Office regarding the threat posed by the weather system, tomorrow Wednesday 29th July will be a national shut down.

This means that except for first response agencies and essential workers in the private and public sectors, all other workers should remain at home.

  1. Is this country being run by idiots? We close do the whole country for a little rain and wind! Not even a named storm? We have to be the laughing stock for the rest of the Caribbean! This government really have no leaders or people with sense! Gaston is just killing this country!

  3. @OLD ANTIGUAN Don’t you find it strange that we are a laughing stock for fhe Caribbean, yet the very same Caribbean govts are taking pages from the book of our Gov’t to protect and empower their economic status, residents & citizens? Perhaps u should get your thoughts rechecked!!

  4. No other government has locked down! But i guess we hate work in this country and any excuse to stay home is a good one
