No Water In Barbuda

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) says Barbuda Reverse Osmosis Plant has been taken offline.

According to the company, this was done to facilitate emergency repairs to the
booster pump at the Reverse Osmosis Plant.

The machinery has since been transported to Antigua for repairs and will be returned to Barbuda in the coming days, according to APUA.

The APUA Water Business Unit says it anticipates the restoration of water service in Barbuda by Friday, May 3rd, 2019.

    • Speak to the Barbudans. They know what kind of development they want. Stop spreading falsehoods.

      • What “falsehoods”? You basically contradicted yourself and proved the statement correct. Let me break it down for you since it flew over your head. The development that is over in Barbuda is NOT wanted by the Barbudans? Is that a little more basic for your comprehension level now?

  1. We are in the twenty first century and a Reverse Osmosis Plant that provides water for an entire Island has one booster pump…give me an aspirin. There should have been at least 3 booster pump. A pump should always be on standby for any emergency. Water is very important to human, animals and others.

    • You can’t buy water pump with grass. When the island get some development you will be able to by 10 water pumps if you want to. But when you continue to block development, you block your ability to provide for your necessities. HMMM.

    • Agree, there should be one pump in operation, one on standby and one in a box in an APUA warehouse. Booster pumps are cheap but long delivery (typically 12-16 weeks in Canada/USA). It is not only senseless, but also negligent, to allow an entire water plant go down over a booster pump.

      • Surely TREVOR WALKER can donate to the purchase of a pump. All that money he makes from his gas station. Surely he is a good “corporate citizen” who enjoys GIVING BACK to his community.

Let’s see him PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS and actually do something for Barbuda other than get them to rile up then leave them out in the cold.

  2. Barbudans DONT know what They want. They dont want development. They were raising funds for OBSERVER RADIO . I believe that it would be much better for the Barbudans to raise funds for Themselves. Antiguans also having shortage of water.

    • raising funds for OBSERVER RADIO?? nothing tarl can go so. That would mixed up priorities. say it ain’t so!

  3. What are you talking about ALL of the last three major development proposals that were brought to the people of Barbuda were officially approved by the people where each was put to a community vote. That includes all brought by this administration. Stop lying to promote your nefarious agendas.
