(Dashboard Update for January 20, 2021)
The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) has revealed no new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Tuesday 19th January 2021.
Subsequent to the publication of the dashboard for Tuesday 19th January 2021 with the cut off time of 6pm, twenty-six additional samples were processed increasing the pending results from one hundred and four to one hundred and thirty.
All one hundred and thirty samples processed by MSJMC and CARPHA yielded negative results and are reflected in the total persons tested and total samples taken columns of the dashboard.
Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda remains at one hundred and ninety (190); which is inclusive of twenty-seven (27) active cases.
Meanwhile, forty-seven samples are pending.
The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

That don’t give clear, useful statistics with local geographic area indicators!

That seem to forget, MOST ANTIGUANS ARE TRYING HARD TO KEEP FOOD ON THE TABLE, STAY HEALTHY IN BODY & SOUL AND ARE FOLLOWING THE PERSONAL PROTOCOLS! Will the caninet members personally give us all support payments during any shutdown periods??

With no flights from UK soon, and few to none from Canada, and the new CDC head advising USA will likely implement stricter international travel restrictions next week, so possibly less AA flights… We’ll have fewer tourists, less $, less work.
On top of that, a lockdown might be a step too far for the average Antiguan.

What to believe?
Let us all stay vigilant and practice the protocols – as most Antiguans are.
In a civil democracy, cabinet should not be threatening lockdown & placing blame on us, with no acknowledgement of their list of failures.
In business this behaviour would be unacceptable and suspension or worse would occur.
Given the situation Antigua and some of the other small island are doing quite well. However St.Lucia and St. Vincent are experiencing some serious covid 19 challenges.
