Lamin Newton has thanked supporters and vowed to remain active in public life after losing the All Saints East & St Luke seat.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Newton expressed gratitude for what he described as strong backing from constituents, saying the response had strengthened his commitment to serve.

He acknowledged the result was not what his campaign had hoped for but said he respected the democratic process. He also congratulated incumbent MP Jamale Pringle on retaining the constituency.

Addressing voters directly, Newton said the defeat would serve as motivation to improve and continue his work in the community.

He reaffirmed his intention to stay engaged in constituency and national affairs, adding that his commitment to residents “remains unwavering” despite the outcome.

  3. We will welcome COMRADE Dane Knight of KNIGHT @ NIGHTS ( OBSERVER RADIO ) officially to the ABLP. I cannot stop laughing. Mr. Knight has been BASHING the UPP for the past 3 years. He also BASHED D. GISEL ISAAC and all the Executives. When the election was called KINGHT had all the Candidates from UPP on His show begging People to vote for UPP. Thank you Mr. Knight , job well done.

    Hope UPP will change the name and REGROUP. UPP will never govern Antigua again. Maybe in 2041.
