The Police earlier today detained three students, one boy and two girls for various activities today in St. John’s.

A chinese businessman has also been detained.

They were all taken to the St. John’s Police Station.

According to an eyewitness, the police made their rounds on Lower Redcliff Street as they do every Friday, telling students to go home.

It is believed that one of the arrests is related to loitering. The other is related to a fight which reportedly occurred near Hi-Tea Cafe.

State media also reported a shoplifting incident in which a student was being questioned by the authorities.

  1. Them pickanagar keep bring shame to their parents. When school over they need to go straight home unless their parents send them out. Please school children go straight home after school because the devil always have something for idle hands to do.

    • U believe they have parents really most of these people are not how can u have your kids loitering everyday in town unbelievable, where is the leadership

  2. Wow that building in the 1st photo needs a new coat of paint. Can’t afford to have unsightly structures smack dab in the heart of the city. Hope SJDC does something about buildings like this one and any others.

  3. Every child needs a plan for their time when the parents are not present. Whether it is sports, study, the arts or other positive and adult supervised activity. Social transformation could assist here with a clearinghouse for available activities and outreach to both the schools and parents. It’s hard to believe that the kids hanging around St John’s are happy getting into trouble with the law and even the most challenged parent loves their child even though sometimes they may not like them very much (LOL). The blame game is counterproductive. These kids need mentors, introduction to activities that may interest them and stability in their lives from someone who takes the time to listen .
