Back pay yet to reach some eligible employees

The government says eligible employees who have not received back pay should not be worried.

According to the government, although cheques have been prepared the instruments have been sent to the various ministries for distribution.

The established workers were paid first; however, the Cabinet says that the non-established workers “will continue to receive their entitlements during the remaining days of the week.:

“Those entitled will receive one month’s gross salary; however, a second payment will be made before Christmas 2018, to those entitled,” a statement issued following Cabinet said.

A number of employees have reported to ANR that they are still awaiting their one month’s back pay which was promised by November 6.

  1. If the money is there, the cheques prepared, instruments sent, what is the hold up?

    Why pay some and not others? They are not worried, they just want the MINIMUM PAYMENT that they are entitled to.

    This administration benefited significantly on the backs of government workers. Please observe the colonial masters did not do this it was ABLP administration.

    These people really take people’s intelligence for granted. Pay the people they already worked.

  3. We as human beings can be so inconsiderate to each other. The Treasury Dept has humans working there and it takes time to tabulate & make sure all checks & balances are in place before they can distribute all outstanding monies(cheques). They are not robots! Please! Let us allow them to do there work thoroughly!
