Pointe Xpress – Senator Dwayne George, the newest member of the Upper House of Parliament, has expressed his unwavering commitment to “serve the people” of the St. Mary’s South constituency.
Following his swearing-in at Government House, Senator George thanked the constituents who placed their trust in him.
He emphasized his dedication to bringing back jobs to the area, tackling high unemployment despite the presence of hotels.
Agriculture, sporting facilities, and economic development are also high on his priority list.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne praised Sen. George’s approach to the nomination process, contrasting it with his opponent’s failure to resign from a government post.
The PM also dismissed claims of the ABLP “buying out” Senator George, stating that he was recommended by several people in the constituency, and the response has been positive.

Separately, another villager is eager to start a business that is of international importance and substantial merit, which will employ substantial amount of Antiguans and Barbudan, especially folks from Bolans Village but literally the department in charge of issuing such license has failed to this day to provide a decision in a reasonable time base on merit. It is nearly one year.
And going to every political figure was deemed a waste. None of them helped to at minimum demand or request for the department/agency in charge of such decisions make such decisions timely especially when it pertains to a business like that is subject of this post.
A guarantee of employment/jobs for the constituents of Bolans Village was ignored for about 1 year.

Senator Dwayne George needs to come to the ABLP voters from St. Mary’s South and tell them if he was part of the deliberate cheating done by Shuggy by not resigning before the nomination date and now causing the constituency to have to go back to the poll with all the monies that it now cost. Limited government resources that could be spent to pay pensioners or fix our roads. Elections are not cheap.
