Young Men and Women it is time to seek a career in the ABDF Navy. Finally the PM will spend more money and you guys have the opportunity to shine. Apply now and become part of the Antigua and Barbuda Coast Guard. We finally realize that we need to put more assets to patrol our borders. Even fishermen come and go as they like. And no one knows what their catch is. But suddenly they have plenty money. I guess out their trading is good. You meet people from all over selling things in the open seas. Why is it we only hear of a drug bust at sea when it is the USA Navy patrolling our waters or the British, French and Dutch. The Caribbean islands need to step up their own border security. But I still suggest for the government to invest in drones. Not the entertainment drones. But those used by the USA military. They can provide the training as well. That is the way will be in control of our borders and prevent the smuggling of contraband and human trafficking. And we need more sophisticated surveillance equipment. Don’t wait till the terrorists are here. Be prepared for when they come. America’s greatest fear is that they will use one of the Caribbean’s soft borders to enter. Just how the Cameroonians tried to use Antigua to get to the USA.
I know a little bit about boats and recognized the one pictured above as a 38 foot (it might be the smaller 33 foot version) Renegade patrol boat. This is a near perfect boat for the waters around Antigua especially if it comes with all the key options. The boat comes with 50 caliber gun mounts so unless the defense force currently has those weapons in their inventory, the government should acquire those too.
When the PM made his speech the other night, the boat shown was made by a company called Axopar but the description of the boat was different than the picture.
Don’t worry drug dealers you can always buy it back at Burma dump on burn day. They will leave it in the mangrove for you to come and collect.
I will never make a crisis go to waste, there is self enrichment scheme in this, that little flimsy boat Gaston is fooling the public to be $2 million dollars and probably USD currency? These small boats are for near shore patrol, well sah! What if Gaston would have seen those coast guard boats in the virgin islands that has an $800,000.00 USD FLIR camera on it to see through bushes and objects while on sea patrol, plus any boat like that comes here will spend more time in disrepair than being functional, because politicians fiduciary trust in handling the countries finance is none existence, everything is dilapidated under Gaston’s stewardship except he acquiring properties and large amount of monies both him and his ministers, is a good thing Antigua travel and know better, but Gaston is not concern about us who are literate, he is concerned at holding that large sector of the population who is old and illiterate under his control, they are his passport to maintain his lottery winning at the government treasury to steal.
yea coast guards live a lavish life, just give them a likkle thing and you good 🤐 drugs won’t stop coming in if certain people are not properly screened.
He is pretending to be concerned by focusing on the waters but will not look in the direction of the Airport where the Africans will be entering.
.
Boat order already? From whom? How much research was done? Did multiple suppliers bid?
No doubt, this ship will make sure more duty and taxes are collected but how will it prevent young girls from being raped?
