New policy coming for distribution of crown land by Ministry of Agriculture

0

Cabinet Notes: The Cabinet examined the policies governing distribution of crown land by the Ministry of Agriculture, for planting food crops. The history reveals that many people have made application for farms but have not acted to grow the food crops.

When, however, attempts are made to distribute the unused lands to legitimate farmers, there is objection by those who have left the lands fallow.

Consequently, beginning early next year, 2021, a new policy will guide the Ministry as it tries to keep non-farmers from tying-up the government’s farm/agricultural lands.

That policy will also examine rental rates which are the very lowest.
