In his speech, PM Browne emphasized the critical juncture we find ourselves at, stating, “We stand at a junction where our action or our failure to act will impact the future of SIDS.”

His words serve as a resounding call to action for leaders from around the world to unite and drive meaningful change for Small Island Developing States.

As Chairman, PM Browne will guide the discussions and decisions that will shape the path towards sustainable development, climate action, and resilience for SIDS.

We congratulate PM Browne on his election and stand ready to support the transformative work that lies ahead.

Together, let us seize this opportunity to create a brighter, more sustainable future for SIDS and the world.

  1. Looking forward to the honest and transparent discussion global north and SIDS politicos have regarding the Chairmans comments yesterday regarding public-private collaboration
“such collaborations are essential to exploiting economic opportunities”
EXPLOITATION of SIDS by funders, developers and scamps is the norm.
EXPLORATION of SIDS indigenous people by their own politicians who worship at the altar of creative personal enrichment
TO HELL with destroyed natural environments and genuinely creating equal opportunities for all of a SIDS people, not just those aligned to a specific party /minister.

Will these pleathora of meetings, side events and whatnot just be a talkshop?
We know $ deals will be done, but at what cost to our people, environment and sustainable resilience in this time of global turmoil, uncertainty, rising prices etc.?
Will our previous island peoples benefit? Or just the favored few?

  2. He is the president of the Conference.I believed the Prime Minister as the host is accorded that title.
