Sergio Martinez, the new Cuban Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, recently visited the Foreign Affairs Minister.
They discussed the upcoming 30th anniversary of their countries’ diplomatic relations, established on April 6, 1994, during (Sir) Lester Bird’s administration.
The focus was on commemorating the milestone and strengthening ties.
Ideas for initiatives were exchanged, highlighting Antigua and Barbuda’s support for Cuba amid the US-imposed economic blockade.
The parliament plans to pass a resolution affirming this support, with the opposition UPP expected to join the government in this effort.
