Kemba Walker, an NBA Basketball player of Antiguan heritage is to be appointed an Antigua and Barbuda Ambassador-at-Large, the Cabinet decided.

The members are of the view that this high profile player can be–and has indicated his willingness to promote Antigua and Barbuda youth–all across the USA.

  1. Much commendations to Kemba Walker and The Cabinet for naming him as an Ambassador at large. I do hope and pray that he will continue to lift Antigua and Barbuda’s flag high and let it fly proudly all whilst opening up opportunities for our youths to aspire to the heights he has reached. It would not have been an easy feat but I believe he persevered. That lesson ought to be taught and he be held in respect as a mentor for youths to aspire to in the future.

  2. Giving young sports athletes a diplomatic passport is a very good thing for when they travel. We know how travelling can be a stressful thing. Athletes can do with some special treatment and care when traveling. And it also makes them proud to know that they are representing this country. They get to board earlier than others and get to wait in VIP lounges.
