National Swim teams head out to Competitions
Antigua and Barbuda, 14th August 2024 — The Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation (ABSF) is proud to announce the selection of its teams for two upcoming swimming competitions – The Goodwill Games in St. Lucia and the PanAm Aquatics Age Group Swimming Championships in Puerto Rico.
This is the first time a national team is participating in the Goodwill Games. It will provide an excellent opportunity for our swimmers to compete on a regional stage, fostering sportsmanship and enhancing their competitive experience. The Goodwill Games is a developmental meet for our young swimmers 8 and under to 17 years and is geared for swimmers who have NOT qualified for CARITFA or higher meets. Ten (10) countries will be participating: Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Bahamas, Suriname, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Turks & Cacios, Curacao and Antigua and Barbuda over the period 16th to 18th August, 2024.
The PanAm Aquatics Age Group Swimming Championships will also be a key event for our swimmers, and is scheduled to take place from 22nd to 25th August 2024, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It will provide our athletes with a valuable platform to showcase their skills and gain international experience. The event will include swimmers aged 11-18 from across the Americas, spanning from Canada to South America.
