Naeem Simon Places 11th in U17 High Jump at CARIFTA
Antigua and Barbuda’s Naeem Simon finished 11th overall in the Under-17 boys’ high jump at the CARIFTA Games, delivering a performance marked by determination and resilience.
Competing in the afternoon session, Simon represented the country among the region’s top young athletes, gaining valuable experience on the regional stage.
In a statement, the Antigua Barbuda Athletic Association commended the young high jumper for his courage and willingness to compete at a high level, noting that “every jump, every attempt, every experience is part of the journey—and this is only the beginning.”
The association encouraged Simon to continue his development, adding, “Keep pushing, keep rising. The future is bright.”

Loved it Naeem, keep pushing and staying focus, it will eventually come. The good thing about high jumping is that you have three attempts to adjust and get it right, so concentrate and focus more on your point of LIFT, as you approach the height, and adjust accordingly, the length of your run up especially in the lower heights, is on you. I’ve been pushing for more young athletes to get into the field events, in track, you get in that block once but in the field you are blessed with several attempts.
Try and find some videos of high jumper Barshim, to me he is one of the best, and see what you can imulate, also try and hook up your own little high jump rig in your back yard, with a few old beds, and bamboo as the cross bar, where you can practice on your own down time. Keep jumping heigh Naeem.
