DEAR KATE: My greedy sister wants to profit from my father’s death

Dear Kate,

My father died a few days ago and my sister from overseas already making claims that she wants this and wants that.

When he was sick she hardly even called. My father isn’t poor and I know he was smart enough to do a will.

I was the one taking care of him. I even had him move in with me while the cancer was rapid.

How is it that all of a sudden, all kinds of family members we never knew showing up?

I want to let them have a piece of my mind but for my dad sake I will hold my tongue but it’s really frustrating the way they are behaving.

I will never fight for material things but no estrange family isn’t gonna come and claim what my father worked hard for.

I want to go to his lawyer to find out what the will states. I am worried that because my father loved that other sister so much she might actually get something more valuable than me.

Dear worried sister,

I understand all that you have said but never let yourself be frustrated about material things.

You actually sound like one of these family members when you said… “I am worried that because my father loved that other sister so much she might actually get something more valuable than me”.

Don’t be desperate. At least bury your father first before the war for his materials begins.

Think of it this way, what is yours will always be yours and because you didn’t work for anything your father owned, appreciate whatever he left.

I am sure you did not take care of him on his last days just to attain his wealth, right?

I hope not. Let your father rest in peace and you should also be at peace that you loved him unconditionally.

Your labour of love will never be forgotten. Once its love of course!!

    I hope he had a WILL…cos if he didn’t dawwwwggg will eat ur supper…

    One thing I know I will never be suing no one cos if in life them didn’t give a fuk …death ain’t gone change shit…..

  5. Naturally as the one who put out themself the most, it will hurt to see your sister who didnt give a rats ass benefit more than you. Yea yea she didnt work for it but she clearly deserves it more than her sister so I understand your frustration. Im sure you didnt take of your dad purely for gains but it is natural for a person to think that their good deeds will be rewarded. Hopefully he left a will but if he didnt dont let her boss you!!!

    On another note, dont sound so desperate to get what your father has. It’s not a good look and makes it seem like u did it for the gains.

  6. I must say if my father was ill and I took care of him id
    would not want anyone else to get his things ..it’s not greediness but why should they when I took care of him
