The murder trial of Tedson Knowles, accused of killing his common-law spouse Carissa Chandler, is currently underway.

Chandler was shot and killed in New Winthorpes on May 23, 2019.

Dr. Petra Miller Nanton, a senior registrar at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre’s Department of Pathology, provided key testimony, detailing Chandler’s gunshot wounds.

She identified an entry wound on the upper right chest and an exit wound on the upper back, consistent with close-range gunshot injuries, leading to Chandler’s death from massive blood loss.

Simone Abbott-Daniel, a preschool teacher and neighbor, testified about hearing a heated argument between Knowles and Chandler on the night of May 22, 2019.

She reported hearing breaking items, shuffling noises, and a loud noise resembling an explosion.

Abbott-Daniel found Chandler at the bottom of a staircase, struggling to breathe, before Knowles arrived, put Chandler in his car, and drove away.

Additionally, Abbott-Daniel recounted an incident two weeks prior where Knowles threatened to shoot Chandler.

The trial continues on Tuesday with more evidence from the prosecution.
