The Government of India in consultation with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda decided to nominate Mr. Vijay Shivkumar Tewani as Honorary Consul of India in Antigua and Barbuda.
In a brief ceremony today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade & Immigration of Antigua & Barbuda, H.E. Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, High Commissioner of India to Antigua and Barbuda handed over the Letter of Appointment from H.E. President of India, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, appointing Mr. Vijay Shivkumar Tewani as Honorary Consul of India in Antigua and Barbuda, to Hon. Mr. Chet Greene, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade & Immigration of Antigua & Barbuda.
The High Commissioner also officially introduced Mr. Tewani to Mr. Chet Greene. Mr. Tewani will henceforth officially represent the High Commission of India, Georgetown, Guyana in Antigua and Barbuda.
Mr. Tewani will have full power and authority by all lawfull means to aid and protect Indian merchant and other Indian citizens, who may trade with or visit or reside in Antigua and Barbuda. Mr. Tewani is a leading businessman of Indian origin in Antigua and Barbuda. All Indian nationals can contact him for assistance.
