Lordy, lordy, lordy. An Antiguan? No. A foreigner? Yes. A Guyanese? Yep! I wonder why. I thought we were “hand to mouth’ and that only the dredges, pot scum, criminals, no goods, come from those places. How then do we rise above all else?Ah what cud haff cause dis? Food for thought for those xenophobically- inclined texters. Congrats are in order.
Little by little I’m seeing the problem. What’s the nationality of the nominators?
The Ecumenical is the heart of the problem: promoting brazen corruption
Poor Antiguans. We are squashed from above and below and made to feel that national pride means nothing. Being an Antiguan family means that all must not only be invited but brought to sit at our table. Those who come among simply keep their identities while ours is being steadily degraded everyday. Soon there will be no real Antigua but a mixture of self interests living in a tiny space. Think you see anything yet? Just wait.
Congrats Mr Guyanese man, it’s really not your fault. The door is being held open for exactly this kind of thing.
This nomination by the Antigua and Barbuda Evangelical Alliance Inc and the Antigua Christian Council is hopefully the first baby step for these two organizations who in the past has consistently failed in advancing democracy.
It is a fundamental responsibility of these two organizations to be the vanguards of democracy rather than the enablers of corruption.
The road to reformation begins somewhere. Let’s hope it does not end with this nomination to the Electoral Commission
