St. Peter’s MP, Asot Michael, faced charges of assaulting a female police officer during a RISE fete in August.
The officer reported him seemingly intoxicated, grabbing her cheeks without consent. Despite her resistance, he allegedly persisted, causing her uniform to partially expose.
Dissatisfied, the constable reported the incident, prompting action months later. Michael, summoned in December, missed the hearing due to a medical appointment.
On Tuesday, the All Saints Magistrate’s Court adjourned the case to March 13 as the prosecutor was absent. Michael was to enter a plea for battery against the officer, marking a continuation of the legal proceedings.
