Motorists urged to exercise extreme caution on FHR

9

The Ministry of Works (MoW) is appealing to motorists to practice extreme precaution while driving on Friars Hill Road in the vicinity of Woods Mall.

This notice is being issued in response to a social media post made by a concerned citizen highlighting the potential hazard.

MoW is awaiting the draining of a flooded electrical conduit to be completed by the Antigua Public Utilities Authority before proceeding with further repairs.

Your patience and cooperation in helping maintain safe driving conditions are truly appreciated.

Please be guided accordingly.

  1. Its a shame. What was all that excavation for when the road was done several years ago? Maybe the contractor should have just buried themselves in it.

  2. So either paint around the hole with a reflective paint or place a hazard cone inside of the hole to help indicate the hazard

  3. What about the double hazardous and dangerous conditions on Fort Road worse than FHR especially at night? And there is a huge dangerous crater in fron of Ali Baba that will destroy any vehicle. Go see. Will appreciate it.

  4. So again I ask: was the contractor (Bahama sonething) paid for the sub-standard work done in ‘rebuilding’ Friar’s Hill Rd and Sir George Walter Highway?

If we get a light drizzle, Friar’s Hill Rd floods out at the exact spots it flodded before prior to tge ‘rebuild’.

Where are the promised nultiple lanes in each direction?

    Where are the promised drains?

    Where are the promised sidewalks?

  5. In the public’s interest, the name(s) of the Engineer(s) from Ministry of Works who certified those 2 disasters should be made public

  6. Lenox Weston is a regular contributer in this forum; maybe he could enlighten us. Lenox, I’m sure you don’t want those 2 disasters as a part of your legacy

  7. That road is barely 2 years old and is falling apart already. Well done ALP. Free money from the Brits and it is was wasted on building a road that is awful in less than 2 years. We cannot get anything right?

  8. While we emphasise caution on Friars Hill Road which is one of the busiest thorough fare in the island we have a minister posing with PWD workers as they fill cavities in All Saints West because he betrayed his people. Where on earth has this government hidden its priorities? When will this government use the states resources to the benefit of everyone and not to buy a few greedy people? The cabal doesn’t care that FHR is just as important as All Saints West however because the representative decided to sleep with his enemy he has to be rewardedfirstly.
